All pupils who are old enough are encouraged to enter examinations with the relevant examination boards and Medal tests are held three times a year in all forms of stage dance.
Royal Academy of Dance examination sessions are held regularly in Ballet from Primary to Grade 8 and British Theatre Dance Association examinations are held in Modern Jazz and Tap from Preparatory to Advanced 2 and Ballet Intermediate to Advanced 2. The Keyford Dancing School is a registered centre for BTDA examinations.
All examinations entered are recognised by the qualifications & curriculum authority and fit into the national Qualification framework the Higher-grade examinations are on a par with G.C.S.E. & A level examinations. The New Media & Arts Diploma now being offered by a number of Schools will take RAD ballet examination results into consideration and these can become a large part of the overall examination.
Pupils who wish to continue with advanced work are able to take BTDA teaching qualifications and are able to gain supervised teaching experience within the school, whilst continuing with distance learning for the written side of the examinations.
